Lead line cook with managerial responsibilities / sous chef

Pappardella is a popular and busy UWS Italian restaurant, serving classic Italian fare including pizza, pasta, fish and grilled meats. We are seeking a skilled, motivated sous chef, that also works the line. in this position you will work with exec chef on optimizing ordering, quality control, inventory, hiring staff, sanitary supervision as well as creating daily special and cooking on the line.

Responsibilities:

- Manage the kitchen personnel

- Ensure the quality preparation of all food items and all proper handling/storage of all food items in accordance with applicable standards - Food Cost

- Labor Cost, scheduling & Training

- Kitchen Maintenance

- Compliance with OSHA, local health and safety codes as well as Company safety and security policies

- work on the line with the team

Qualifications:

- 3+ years of experience in cooking italian cuisine

- food handler certificate

-base knowledge of computer handling

- good communication skills with staff & supervisors

-available weekends
