A boutique wine shop conveniently located in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. This shop specializes in thoughtful selections from around the world, small producers, and terroir driven wines. Most of the wines on the shelves here, are wines you would find in some of your favorite restaurants. This is a part-time sales position that will assist with some marketing. Responsibilities for this position include helping guests with their selections in-store, over the phone, and online. Assist with wine & spirit writing to drive sales. This individual should demonstrate wine knowledge and have excellent communication skills. Applicants must be able to communicate effectively by phone, email & in-person, as the position will involve some customer service. Experience in sales, writing, data entry, and MailChimp a plus.
At this shop hospitality is number one, and this is a great opportunity for Sommeliers looking to gain experience in the retail space, or wine students. This position will allow you to grow and develop wine knowledge and be a part of a dynamic team!
Requirements
Part-time.
2-3 shifts a week.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Hourly pay $22 hour.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to stand on for up to 8 or 10 hours.
Ability to lift up to 50LB when needed.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting customers with purchases in store, by phone, email and online.
Update the wine and spirit descriptions as new items come in.
Assist with wine writing for Marketing and Sales.
Occasionally check in and assist with deliveries.
Sales register operations.
General daily cleaning and maintenance of the store.
Opening or closing the store.
Restocking the shelves and refrigerators.
