Gates is one of New Canaan’s most beloved local restaurants — we are hiring a Sous Chef to work alongside our Executive Chef on our diverse, seasonal menu.
If you’re an ambitious line cook looking for that next step, bilingual (English + Spanish), and serious about craft — we want to talk.
You’ll do:
assist Chef with daily kitchen operations + weekly specials
prep + cook menu items to spec and plate with detail
supervise + mentor line cooks; train new hires
maintain a clean, pro, organized station + DOH compliance
support ordering, pars, inventory + cost control
What we offer:
$60,000–$65,000 salary (DOE)
full-time — 5 day week / 50 hours
