Our client, a world renowned Cancer Center Research Facility on the Upper East Side is seeking an Environmental Service Aide for a full-time, long term temporary position that could become permanent.
Available shift Monday-Friday 3pm-11:30pm with alternating weekends and holidays required.
The facility requires everyone to be fully vaccinated prior to starting (PLEASE NOTE: THIS REQUIREMENT IS SUBJECT TO A REQUEST FOR A LEGALLY RECOGNIZED ACCOMMODATION)
As an Environmental Service Aide, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and well-organized environment for patients, their family, visitors and staff.
You Will:
Follows infection control protocols specific to surgical environments. (e.g. hand hygiene, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as scrubs, booties, cap, gloves, face shield or mask, etc.)
Cleans all assigned areas (e.g., center core, corridors, nurses’ stations, utility rooms, offices, pantries, laboratories, elevators) within the timeframe established by the supervisor.
Cleans and disinfects operating room walls.
Maintains environmental services’ staff bathroom and locker room as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Changes uniform daily; drops off and picks up uniforms to allow for weekly cleaning.
Follows area specific safety procedures (e.g. MRI protocols, radiation safety, etc.).
Performs Operating Room Cycle Cleaning project work as assigned by supervisor (e.g., wall washing, floor/shower scrubbing).
Refinishes floors of clinical areas and corridors based upon traffic patterns and supervisor’s request.
Shampoos, extracts, and spot clean carpets as needed and according to schedule or supervisor’s request.
You Have:
Ability to use floor cleaning equipment, stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend and push items, can lift a minimum of 30 lbs
