Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist with additional skills to join our team in midtown Manhattan.
Use your expertise in X-Ray technology to assist with the diagnosis of urgent problems. Expand your knowledge, alongside the most highly respected professionals in the field. We use digital PACS system to transmit films to radiologist.
Job Responsibilities:
Performs routine radiological procedures and bone density procedures
Duties include following Physician/PA orders for imaging (i.e. body part, views of images, quantity of images).
Loading images into the correct patient room and EMR.
Make copies when needed of the x-rays for patients and place onto a CD.
Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor/ manager.
New graduates will be considered and will be given additional orientation and training.
The shift for this position is from 8.30AM to 4PM.
No weekends or holidays. We are located in midtown Manhattan one block from subway.
Applies the necessary technical judgment to obtain studies of an acceptable diagnostic quality according to written protocols and the patients’ needs.
Provides patient education relevant to specific imaging procedures by informing the patient of the nature of the procedure, the area to be imaged and any specific instructions the patient may need.
Employs radiation protection measures, to include collimation on all images, and follows protocols to keep exposure of patients and personnel to a minimum.
Evaluates radiographs for technical acceptability and ensures images are transmitted to PACS in a timely fashion.
Ensures Radiology room and equipment cleanliness, at the start and at the end of the shift, to include removal of soiled or dirty linen.
Maintains supplies and accessories in imaging room necessary to safely perform duties, as required.
Performs related clerical duties in the absence of support personnel.
Informs supervisor or appropriate personnel of needed repairs to equipment or unsafe conditions.
Prevents the spread of infection to self, patients, visitors, and other employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocol.
Attends in-services and other professional development meetings as required.
Requirements:
Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
Licensed by the State of New York
Job Type: Full-time/Part time
Pay: $33.00 and up depending on experience.
