We are actively searching for a skilled and experienced porter/handyman to become an integral part of our dynamic team, offering invaluable support to our facilities department. Responsibilities
- Dishwashing, pot & pan washing, and kitchen equipment cleaning to ensure sanitation standards are met.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of all kitchen areas throughout shifts.
- Perform various deep cleaning and maintenance projects as assigned.
- Organize and maintain service ware in an orderly manner.
- Adhere to NYC Department of Health regulations at all times.
- Assist kitchen staff with tasks as required.
- Utilize experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment for repairs and maintenance.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of electrical and plumbing systems.
- Conduct tasks such as changing locks, plastering, and sheetrock repair as needed.
Qualifications
- Possess effective communication skills to collaborate with team members.
- Have a minimum of 2 years of porter/handyman and dishwasher experience in a café, restaurant, or food service business.
- Exhibit a strong work ethic, organization skills, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
- Be dependable, punctual, and enthusiastic with a positive team-oriented attitude.
- Communicate effectively with team members and demonstrate respect for fellow employees, managers, and vendors.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs, bend, reach, and stand for extended periods during an 8-hour shift.
Schedule: Full Time, On-Site (Bronx, NY)
Hourly Rate: $21.00 - $22.00
