Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Court Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing our court schedule, drafting legal documents, and providing support across various aspects of landlord-tenant relations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in housing court cases and a proactive approach to handling case management tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and track the court schedule for all cases, including landlord-tenant cases.
Draft petitions and predicate notices with precision.
Enter case updates using the Landlord-Tenant software (My Case).
Support the Lease Renewal Manager, Staff Attorneys, and General Counsel with various tasks.
Manage non-primary and carryover cases that are not renewed.
Demonstrate expertise in handling housing court cases, including holdover and nonpayment proceedings.
Discuss and explore various payment options with tenants.
Conduct client interviews to gather necessary data for cases.
Assist with administrative duties such as returning emails and answering calls.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in managing housing court cases.
Strong understanding of landlord-tenant law.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Detail-oriented and highly organized.
