Small civil litigation firm needs a freelance relationship with an experienced New York personal injury defense paralegal. About 5 to 10 hours of work per week. Pay rate is negotiable. This is a fully remote position.
The main skills you need to have are ordering medical records, reviewing, understanding and analyzing the medical records as they come in, ordering the IME including choosing the specialty of the examining doctor, writing reports for the insurance company including specifically assessing liability, researching settlement value and requesting settlement authority, drafting and responding to combined demands, drafting pleadings such as answer, motion for summary judgment, etc. Familiarity with the various supreme court parts in NYC and their practices is also helpful.
