We are a small, dynamic litigation firm specializing in commercial liability defense. We are seeking an experienced paralegal to serve as a case manager on a part-time, freelance basis. We are seeking two professionals - one with a strong background in commercial litigation and another with a background in personal injury law, ideally on the defense side.
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management: Oversee the progress of multiple litigation cases, ensuring that each moves forward efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. You’ll need to have a deep understanding of the legal process, including the ability to anticipate the next steps, estimate timelines and costs, and effectively plan out the workload.
Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate our team of attorneys and paralegals, many of whom have their own practices or full-time roles. Your role will be to keep them motivated and on task by making their involvement as streamlined and hassle-free as possible.
Decision Making: Take charge of interviews and selection for case-specific roles, identifying candidates with the right skills and experience. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all paperwork and deadlines are managed efficiently, allowing the team to focus on their core work.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in commercial litigation or personal injury law.
- Proven leadership skills, particularly in legal project management.
- Ability to make quick, informed decisions to keep cases on track.
- Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Compensation: $35/hr.
