We are seeking an experienced Immigration Paralegal with a strong background in both affirmative and defensive asylum work. There are 3 available positions. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about advocating for immigrants. Bilingual fluency in any foreign language is required due to the diverse populations we serve. This is a full-time in-office position (hybrid or remote is not available). Work authorization is required. Outstanding salary, overtime, benefits, bonuses, and environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and file asylum applications for both affirmative and defensive cases.
Draft motions to substitute, change venue, continue, advance, schedule, etc.
Prepare filings, track and manage case statuses on EOIR and USCIS.
Conduct country conditions research and compile evidence in support of asylum claims.
Maintain organized and up-to-date case files and calendars.
Communicate clearly with clients to explain case status, legal processes, and next steps.
Schedule and prepare clients for interviews and hearings.
Collaborate closely with attorneys to support legal strategy and case preparation.
Address and resolve EAD clock issues, including restoration requests.
Resolve court related issues such as rejection notices, required filings, etc.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 full year as an immigration paralegal with a focus on asylum within a law firm.
Experienced in preparing and filing motions and tracking case status through EOIR and USCIS portals.
Strong knowledge of immigration court procedures and USCIS processes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Comfortable explaining legal procedures and case details to clients in an accessible way.
Bilingual fluency in any foreign language.
Proficiency in legal case management software.
Authorized to work in the US.
