Kitchen & Bath Designer – Luxury Home Builder & Custom Cabinetry Firm (Tri-State Area / Westchester Focus)

Our company is a luxury home builder, contractor, and developer with an in-house custom cabinetry and millwork shop, offering high-end and semi-custom cabinetry throughout the Tri-State area, primarily in Westchester County. We are seeking an experienced Kitchen Designer to join our team and support our growing cabinetry division.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented designer skilled in kitchen layout, cabinetry ordering, customer communication, and managing multiple active projects.
Schedule: Flexible hours; in-showroom 2+ days per week
Compensation: Based on experience + 10% commission
(Base pay will be determined according to qualifications.)
Responsibilities:
- Meet with clients in the showroom to understand design needs, style preferences, and project goals.
- Create detailed kitchen layouts, elevations, and renderings using Design Live (Version 13).
- Prepare accurate cabinetry designs, specifications, and material selections.
- Develop pricing breakdowns showing cabinet cost, profit margin, commission, and client pricing.
- Work with cabinetry vendors to obtain pricing, lead times, specs, and samples.
- Place cabinetry orders and ensure accuracy of all order documentation.
- Collaborate with contractors, architects, and internal project managers to ensure seamless integration of designs.
- Work closely with the front desk, submitting all necessary paperwork for: Customer folders, Vendor orders, Pricing sheets
- Review designs for jobsite conditions, client revisions, and construction requirements.
- Maintain strong product knowledge of semi-custom and custom cabinetry lines.
- Assist with showroom organization, samples, and displays as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service, including timely communication, follow-up, and coordination with clients and cabinet vendors.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of kitchen design experience (or equivalent).
- Proficiency in Design Live (Version 13) is required.
- Strong understanding of cabinetry construction, materials, and installation requirements.
- Ability to produce accurate pricing sheets, proposals, and order documents.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills—must be responsive and organized.
- Experience working with cabinetry vendors and placing cabinetry orders.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects at once.
