We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual for a short-term project with the potential to transition into a full-time Personal Assistant position based on performance.
Basic Requirements:
Availability: 18 hours per week all preferably during business hours, 3-4 days a week to be determined at interview.
Applicant must be a self-starter, able to multi-task without micro-management.
Experience:
Proven experience in online sales and like kind administrative duties.
Job Description
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
Managing the sale of a large inventory of high-end audio/visual equipment.
Listing for sale of antiques, books, furniture, and miscellaneous valuables for sale.
Determine items that are not salable and ensure they are removed from premises
Conducting online sales using traditional platforms and specialty audio and visual sites and/or communicating with wholesale vendors as necessary
Reviewing, sorting, and organizing email communications related to sales and maintaining spreadsheets of all sales.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the owner to assess item values for optimal pricing.
Post items for sale online and seek bulk purchasing options for similar inventory.
Monitor and manage communications related to online sales.
Respond to inquiries and conduct sales meetings with local buyers.
Handle all on-site inspection, negotiation, pickups, packing, shipping, and tracking of items sold although it is our preference that all items be picked up by purchasers or shipped by purchasers preferred shippers and at their sole expense.
Maintain an Excel spreadsheet for inventory sales and financial records.
Ensure a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
Skills and Abilities:
Applicant should have a proactive work approach with strong time management and organizational skills. It should be understood that time is of the essence in getting the venue cleared out.
Possess the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Attention to detail, especially with numbers and sales tracking.
Strong research and information analysis skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Applicant must be proficient in Excel and Word and standard office equipment (PC, scanner, etc.).
Compensation and Hours:
Salary: To be determined based on experience. A commission on sales is also a possibilty.
Schedule: 18 hours per week, hopefully during normal business hours
Applicant must be able to pass a background check, and provide a resume with verifiable references.
INTERVIEWS:
Applicants who meet the requirementsare will be short listed and get a reply within a few days.
Once we have a slate of short listed applicants we will then contact them to schedule in-person interviews to discuss which days and hours applicants are available, and salary their requirements.
NOTE: This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a project with the possibility of advancement to a long-term full-time position as a house manager and caregiver/cook but this additional possibility is not conditional to the original offering.
