Sales Assistant at the Union Square Holiday Market

Are you outgoing, dependable, and love helping people find beautiful handmade gifts? We’re looking for a friendly and responsible person to run our booth at a popular holiday market in Union Square, NYC. This is an outdoor position inside a festive market setting. The booth is fully covered and heat is provided to keep things cozy throughout the season. You’ll be representing a small, artist-owned business that sells original paintings, art prints and gift items.
What You’ll Do:
Handle all sales using a point-of-sale (POS) system
Keep the booth tidy, restocked, and visually appealing
Engage with customers, share the story behind the art, and encourage purchases
Keep basic records (sales totals, any issues, customer requests)
Occasional errands to pick up packages from a nearby FedEx shipping office
What We’re Looking For:
Strong communication and people skills
Retail or art market experience preferred but not necessary
Physically able to lift/move boxes and set up displays
Punctual, organized, and reliable
Comfortable working independently
Bonus: Interest in photography, art, or handmade goods
Training & Support:
Training and support will be provided before the market begins. You’ll receive clear instructions, product information, and booth layout details, along with direct contact with the artist throughout the season for guidance.
