We are a visual display company looking to hire a Carpenter/Fabricator/Prop & Set Builder. This position would involve building structures and products by reading blueprints and assembling materials like wood and metal. Key duties include measuring, cutting, shaping, and joining materials with various tools, inspecting work for quality, and performing repairs. This role combines carpentry skills with the precision and fabrication techniques of a fabricator. Installation experience required and mandatory.
Key responsibilities
Reading and interpreting plans: Understand technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to create finished products.
Measuring and cutting: Accurately measure and cut materials such as wood, metal, and other solid surfaces to the required specifications.
Shaping and assembly: Use a variety of hand and power tools to shape, form, and assemble components into a complete structure or product.
Joining materials: Connect parts using techniques like welding, soldering, bolting, or screwing, depending on the materials used.
Quality control: Inspect and measure finished products and components to ensure they meet quality standards.
Maintenance: Keep work areas clean and maintain tools and equipment.
Problem-solving: Identify and resolve structural or design challenges that arise during the construction process.
Essential skills
Technical proficiency: Expertise in woodworking, framing, and finishing, as well as fabrication techniques for metal or other materials.
Blueprint reading: Ability to interpret technical drawings for complex projects.
Mathematical skills: Strong ability to calculate measurements, angles, and material needs accurately.
Physical dexterity and strength: Precision for detailed work and the physical capacity to handle demanding tasks.
Attention to detail: Ensure precise cuts and measurements for a seamless final product.
Time management: Efficiently complete projects on schedule while maintaining high-quality standards.
Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with other tradespeople and contractors.
Must have a flexible schedule as hours will vary. There will be late night and weekend work where you’ll be required. Our industry is not 9 -5. This is a full time Position.
