We are a visual display company looking to hire a Finisher / Spray booth Operator who is qualified to apply paint, lacquers, or other coatings to products using spray equipment in a controlled environment. Key duties include preparing surfaces, mixing and applying finishes, cleaning and maintaining spray equipment and the booth, and ensuring the final product meets quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and adherence to safety procedures.
Key responsibilities
Surface preparation: Sanding, cleaning, and repairing surfaces before they are painted.
Paint application: Operating spray guns (HVLP, conventional) to apply coatings like paint or lacquers to achieve a high-quality, consistent finish. We use mostly water-based materials. Thoroughness, meticulousness and attention to detail.
Paint mixing: Mixing paints, stains, and primers according to the correct specifications. Must understand color matching and consistency in the paint mixture for spraying.
Equipment maintenance: Cleaning and maintaining spray guns, pumps, and compressors.
Booth maintenance: Cleaning and maintaining the spray booth and its associated ventilation and air systems.
Quality control: Identifying, reporting, and repairing any defects in the finish.
Safety compliance: Adhering to all safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Material handling: Safely moving and handling materials and finished parts, which may include lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
Required skills and qualifications
Technical skills: Experience with spray painting techniques and equipment (e.g., HVLP, conventional spray systems) is required.
Attention to detail: Necessary for consistent application and high-quality results. Having an artistic and creative ability is a plus.
Problem-solving: Ability to troubleshoot issues with equipment or finish applications.
Physical ability: Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift objects up to 50 lbs. Able to work overtime and on weekends if necessary.
Time Management: Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
Communication: Good communication skills to work with team members and supervisors.
