Job Description:
Harris Water Main & Sewer Contractors is seeking a full-time, skilled Truck Mechanic to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy-duty diesel equipment, including dump trucks, backhoes, cement mixers, and other essential vehicles used in our construction and plumbing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks, including dump trucks, cement mixers, and backhoes.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
Ensure all equipment is maintained in compliance with safety standards and company policies.
Keep detailed records of maintenance and repair work, including parts used and hours worked.
Work with the fleet manager to schedule repairs and maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations across all job sites.
Equipment We Work On:
All makes and models of trucks from 2008-2025, with the newest being 2025 models.
Case 580SN backhoes.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a truck mechanic, with a focus on diesel engines and heavy equipment.
Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical issues.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
ASE certification preferred, but not required.
Ability to lift heavy equipment and perform physically demanding tasks.
