Its affiliates offer deep expertise across a comprehensive range of traditional and alternative investments through a wide array of vehicles and customized strategies.POSITION SUMMARY:10 week summer internship program designed to challenge students interested in gaining hands-on experience with Nuveen’s businesses.Interns will have experiences in one of the following areas:
Brand Analytics (New York based)
Data Science (Chicago based)
Digital (Chicago based)
Client/Product Marketing (Chicago based)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Brand Analytics:
Participate in marketing projects
Build relationships with key stakeholders
Assist with projects supporting Nuveen’s website(s), social media campaigns and other marketing programs
Research marketing best practices
Data Science:
The Data Science team, responsible for building machine learning models to drive Distribution and Marketing strategy and tactics. The summer intern will be introduced to the Data Science environment, working across the full spectrum of Data Science life cycle activities including: data pulling and cleaning, model building, model deployment, and execution build out.
Digital:
Help with projects supporting the evolution of website(s), landing pages, micro sites, etc. and other online touch points.
Work with developers, designers andcontent owners on site enhancements and changes requested by business owners.
Build relationships with key stakeholders - specifically between the product/marketing teams and the Digital Strategy and Marketing Technology team.
Learn and become proficient with different systems supporting the website (CMS, JIRA, Admaster, and Analytics tools)
Client/Product Marketing:
Assist with projects ranging from creating content, conduction industry research, organizing content and data, creating and manipulating excel spreadsheets, and contributing to automation and efficiency projects.
A typical day will involve working with peers, collecting and analyzing data, working with content in both print and digital mediums, scheduling and attending meetings, and managing projects and workload.
The intern will also gain exposure to various platforms in our marketing technology stack and will utilize these tools in their day-to-day activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:The candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree preferably
in business, finance, marketing or related areas and have advanced knowledge of
Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). The ideal candidate
will be highly self-motivated, work well in teams, committed to ongoing
learning, display intellectual curiosity, and have the drive to obtain on the
job expertise. They should have demonstrated interest within the
investment management industry. They also must be able to adapt to change and a
variety of ad hoc requests; as well as have the ability to prioritize tasks and
deliver on objectives within a given timeframe.Required Skills
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
Graduating between December 2020 and August 2021
Minimum GPA of 3.0 or better
Desired Skills:
Understanding of marketing concepts and knowledge of trends.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Creative thinker
Excellent communication, presentation, problemsolving/analytical skills
Proven ability to prioritize tasks and deliver oncommitments
Previous internship or work experience a plus
Demonstrated interest within the investment managementindustry is preferred
Independent and original thinker
Self-discipline and self-motivation
Strong level of integrity with an entrepreneurial spirit
For the Data Science Internship specifically:
The ideal candidate will be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degreemajoring in Statistics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science orrelated areas (e.g. Machine Learning)
Experience with SQL and R or Python programming languages
