Job Description SummaryThe Environmental Specialist position will support the Environmental Programs Leader in implementing all aspects of Environmental compliance Program. The position will require domain expertise to assist with the following programs: Title V Air permit, SPDES Wastewater permit, RCRA 90 generator compliance, EPCRA Tier 2 reporting, Bulk Petroleum programs, etc. This includes oversight of the RCRA 90 day storage facility, Discharge Monitoring Reporting, RCRA reporting, and record retention within all programs. This position will require the ability to balance multiple priorities, team management skills, execution to regulatory details, etc. This role requires a clear thinker and self-starter and team player.Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities

Manage the RCRA 90 day storage activities in all aspects from waste collection, storage, labeling, packaging, shipping, vendor approval, etc. Including tax submittals, annual reports, etc.

Complete the monthly Wastewater Discharge Monitoring Reports and interfacing w/ Adirondack Environmental Labs and Wastewater Operations team on regular basis.

Assisting in Title V compliance support e.g. Emergency Generator monthly hours/fuel tracking, semi-annual certification preparation, ODS oversight w/ Facilities, etc.

Ensure customer service to research community is maintained at high satisfaction level.

Manage the Petroleum Bulk Storage Programs including inspections, tank registrations, audits, etc

Ensure current permits and regulations complied with and communicate obligations clearly to leadership and GRC personnel.

Assist w/ agency inspections and interface

Ensure funding requests and invoices approved as needed.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor degree from accredited college/university in Engineering/Science/ or Technical field w/ requisite Environmental compliance experience (2-5 yrs.)

Experience regulatory agencies (NY DEC/EPA, etc.)

Knowledge of NY DEC Haz.Waste, Air, Water regulations.

Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY

​The base pay range for this position is $80,600 - $134,300 USD Annually. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary based on the plan.
