Salary: Hourly Rate per AGCEP Contract

Daily Hours: 6.5 (6 paid)

Minimum Requirements:
New York State Teaching Assistant or Teacher Certification.

MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK THE ENTIRE SUMMER SESSION (Tentative Dates are July 7th through August 15th, 2025).

Strong organizational skills;
Must be flexible, responsible, and dependable;
Daily attendance is expected.
Position Summary/Responsibilities:
Provides direct instruction to individual students or small groups of students under the general supervision of a
certified teacher in support of the instructional plan;
Provides teacher with information about students that will assist the teacher in the development of appropriate
learning and behavioral experiences in a Special Education classroom working with special needs students;
Assists pupils in the use of available instructional resources and in the development of instructional materials;
Utilizes their own special skills and abilities by assisting in instructional programs in such areas as: academic
subjects, language other than English, arts, music, special subjects, and supports activities of daily living (i.e., feeding, toileting and grooming);
Assists in related instructional work as required (including copying);
Assists students with specific health related activities as appropriate;
Assists with coordination of student development of parent/student workshops;
Supervises lunch room and bus duty;
Assists students with disabilities with their daily activities;
Must be comfortable with students with challenging physical impairments;
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
