Working with landlords, MCDHS, the City of Rochester and Monroe County, and other community stakeholders to identify landlords and property managers who can work with and rent to low-income households who require new housing.
Developing and implementing landlord engagement strategies with a goal of increasing safe and affordable rental housing in Monroe County.
Building ongoing and sustainable relationships with potential landlord partners, property management companies, apartment associations, and other target groups to market the landlord incentive program.
Maintaining relationships with landlords, serving as a third-party liaison, as needed, to address landlord issues or concerns.
Developing and maintaining an inventory of available, affordable apartment units in the community for use by Housing Navigators and service providers.
Conducting apartment inspections before move-ins as well as post move out inspections to ensure safe and stable living situations.
Maintaining users and properties on theFront Door NY (https://frontdoorny.org/) website, rental listings exclusively for agencies within the landlord incentive program.
Assisting in creating and sharing marketing materials to promote the landlord incentive program andFront Door NY (https://frontdoorny.org/) to landlords and property managers across Monroe County.
Developing and maintain marketing materials for landlord engagement as well as talking points for staff.
Regularly follow-up and communicate with partnering landlords and Monroe County housing service providers to ensure satisfaction with the program and organization.
Educating staff, housing partners, clients, and community members on local housing resources.
Working in close collaboration with the Monroe County Department of Human Service (DHS), LTSA, RHA vouchers to improve rapid access to mainstream quality permanent housing options.
Consulting with landlords to identify barriers and gaps in service needs to develop and maintain safe and affordable rental housing.
Actively participate in landlord associations, workgroups, and community meetings, such as the Homeless Services Network in the Rochester area.
Supporting planning of landlord engagement and appreciation events.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Associate's degree in human services, social work, psychology or related field and two years of related experience or an equivalent of education and experience (see CCSI's equivalency chart (https://www.ccsi.org/CCSI/media/pdfs/Equivalency-chart.pdf) ).
Valid Class D New York State Driver License and access to motor vehicle to meet transportation requirements of job.
Additional Requirements
Satisfactory completion of all required background screenings.
Demonstrated knowledge of community-based service organizations.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate service delivery in a multidisciplinary environment.
Ability to promote the program and its related services, as necessary, to landlords and property management companies who may not be familiar with the Front Door NY Landlord Incentive Program
Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills; bi-lingual a plus
