Small, established Webster landscape contractor is looking for a reliable part-time, experienced mechanic for the upcoming season (mid-March through early December). Your duties would steadily fall on ONE WEEKEND DAY with the additional flexibility required to be "ON CALL", as needed, during or at the end of a particular work day. The job would mainly involve troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining our zero-turn plus walkbehind mowers, 2 and 4-cycle equipment, tow vehicles, trailers, a diesel dump truck, and organization/cleanliness of the shop with communication of any needs for supplies and parts. Most of your work would take place at our Webster shop, but some will require traveling out to a crew's location with our vehicle (...or your own, paid @ $.58/mile). Welding will be required at times.
The ideal candidate would be a retired mechanic/someone mechanically qualified, living in/close to Webster, with good communication skills and looking for steady part-time work. Youâll require a valid/current NYS Driverâs license and an operating smart phone. We will provide air compressor, air tools, welders, parts, shop suppliesâyouâll need to provide your own hand tools.
