MECHANICAL DESIGNER
Job Summary
We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical design within the automation and material handling industry and a proficiency in AutoCad & Solidworks software. The Mechanical Designer will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing custom automated equipment and material handling systems.

Since 1983, we have been designing and building custom automated equipment including vibratory parts feeders, automatic assembly machinery, O-ring installation machines, ball sorters, vision systems, and automatic sorting systems. We also offer automatic parts sorting services using equipment here on our production floor, as well as containment, quality control, assembly, and packaging services. We served the automotive, aerospace, consumables, copy products, food, pharmaceuticals, molded plastics, photography, screw machine products, and sheet metal stamping industries. Our experienced team, drawing upon knowledge of past applications, imagination, and cutting-edge technology provides custom automation solutions for a wide range of industrial assembly, sorting, and material handling requirements.
The following duties are required of a mechanical designer, but are not all encompassing:
-Proficient in using CAD software including SolidWorks and AutoCad.
-Create and assess project designs.
-Create detail drawings including geometric tolerances as required indicating dimensions of parts, qualities of materials to be used.
-Create of automation and material handling system assembly drawings.
-Generate appropriate documentation to support equipment manuals, maintenance, and spare parts, design changes/revisions, & implementation of document change orders, reworks, deviations, etc.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at the same time, all with varying timelines. Ability to pivot quickly to urgent requests.
- Understanding of sketches, drawings, and specifications to create components and complete automation / material handling systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools software including but not limited to:
MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Project, MS PowerPoint
- Mathematical skills, ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure (imperial & metric)
