Framing Technology is looking for a motivated and self-directed person to join our parts department. The Parts Associate is responsible for fulfilling both customer parts orders and internal parts requests. He or she is also responsible for managing inventory, making sure that counts are correct both on the shelf and in our ERP system. Other responsibilities include inbound inspection, receiving inbound inventory materials into the system, and notifying purchasing of any incorrect material sent by vendors.
The Parts Associate must have a thorough understanding of our product line and be able to make alternative suggestions when or if an ordered part is not on the shelf. He or she also needs to be proficient with our ERP software and able to successfully fulfill orders independently. Proficiency in other software systems is also key, such as using email, Google calendars, Google Chat, etc. Our environment is fast-paced and busy.
Responsibilities include:
Use inventory management systems to order, track, and process both customer and internal parts orders.
Ensure timely restocking of commonly used parts.
Ability to multitask and make suggestions for alternative parts when inefficiencies are recognized.
Manage inventory, both physical stock counts and levels needed to successfully complete all orders. Rolling stock counts will be done.
Organize and label shelves for stored parts for efficiency and accessibility.
Receive in all incoming material related to what is housed on the parts shelves (excluding strut, panels, etc.) and inspect deliveries for accuracy and damage.
Match received items to purchase orders and packing slips.
Notifying purchasing of any parts received in error and facilitating their return to the vendor.
Be proficient (after training) with the company ERP system and ask questions when clarification is needed.
Work order coordination – read and interpret job orders to understand dates and required parts/materials. Prepare kits or pull materials for upcoming jobs.
Collaborate with the department supervisors to prioritize material availability.
Required Skills Include but are not limited to:
High school diploma
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency managing time, including an ability to prioritize
Keeps a neat and organized work area. This is especially important in the parts department
Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information
Be able to demonstrate attention to details and good record keeping
Show initiative, thoroughness, and accuracy
Computer and Phone Handling proficiency
Perform all duties in an independent manner with little supervision
