Auto Body Service Manager

Auto Body Service Manager Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the auto body service department, including scheduling and assigning tasks to technicians, estimators, and administrative staff.

Ensure that all repair and maintenance work is completed on time and meets the highest quality standards.

Oversee the workflow within the shop, monitoring the progress of repairs and resolving any issues or bottlenecks that may arise.

Communicate with customers to provide updates on the status of their vehicle repairs and address any questions or concerns they may have.

Collaborate with insurance companies and adjusters to handle claims and negotiate repair estimates.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of repairs, inventory, and customer information.

Develop and implement strategies to improve shop efficiency, productivity, and profitability.

Train and mentor staff, providing guidance and support as needed to ensure high levels of performance and customer satisfaction.

Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and regulations to ensure compliance and the adoption of best practices within the auto body repair field.

Maintain a safe and clean working environment, enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular inspections to identify and address any potential hazards.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent education.

Previous experience in the auto body repair industry, with at least 2-3 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role.

Knowledge of auto body repair standards and procedures, including familiarity with industry regulations and compliance requirements.

Certification in auto body repair or a related field is preferred.

Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Excellent references from previous employers, highlighting strong leadership abilities and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
