Dunn Tire is looking for experienced Automotive Mechanics to join our team. Our ideal candidate is a hard-working, goal-oriented individual who has a strong desire to provide great customer service and who is determined to repair a vehicle correctly on the first visit. The primary role of our Automotive Mechanic is to inspect, diagnose and repair cars and light trucks.
Responsibilities
Inspecting and troubleshooting issues on passenger and light truck vehicles
Test driving, and performing repair and preventive maintenance work
Examine various systems within cars to diagnose problems
Remove parts that are worn or not operating properly and replace them with new or used parts
Perform routine maintenance like oil, filter, and belt changes according to schedules established by various car manufacturers
Explain repairs to customers and provide estimates for unanticipated repairs
Suggest optional repairs and preventative maintenance to customers based on service intervals and/or wear
Keep detailed records of all work performed
Assist with the installation of tires when necessary
General housekeeping and misc. duties as assigned
Earning and maintaining a valid NY State Inspectors License
Maintaining a valid States Driver's License
Qualifications
Possess a minimum of 1 year of on-the-job experience or the equivalent experience on an individual level
Possess their tools
Possess a valid States Driver's License
The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the day
The ability to bend, kneel, squat, twist, and stand for extended periods of time with or without a reasonable accommodation provided
Dexterity to operate hand-held tools like screwdrivers and wrenches
NY State Inspectors License is preferred but not required for this position
