Our Power Systems Engineering team utilizes their deep knowledge of connected power grid planning, design, operation, and life-cycle management, to offer customized solutions to our global clients. Our Power Economics team offers analyses focused on the understanding and the study of the financial and physical operation of the electric power systems including generation and grid planning, system optimization, asset valuation, competitive power markets and energy policy implications. Over 700 entities worldwide use our suite of software tools to assess the economics, performance, and reliability of interconnected power systems. We also offer a full range of education courses through our Power Systems Engineering Course.The successful candidate for this position will be involved in developing, expanding, and maintaining a suite of developer operations tools for our PSLF, MAPS, and MARS power system planning applications. Such tools include continuous integration, webapp deployment, unit test frameworks, and version control systems.Job DescriptionRoles & Responsibilities
Create and maintain devops infrastructure for building and deploying our flagship power systems engineering applications to internal development, QA, and production environments
Perform root-cause analysis of issues in GE Vernova and client deployment environments
Create and maintain a unit testing framework, including efficiently reporting test results to the development team and management
Design, develop, and manage systems for publishing developer documentation and REST API documentation
Advocate for design and development best practices across a team with a wide range of experience in enterprise software development
Develop documentation and provide customer support for client installation of GE power systems planning applications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology or related field from an accredited college or university
Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial software development, including at least 2 years’ experience with a leading role in development operations
At least one year experience developing scripts or modules in Python 3
Desired Characteristics
Experience with the software development software build process, continuous integration, unit testing, and software QA
Experience using and/or administering any of Buildbot, Jenkins, Propel CI, or Artifactory
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Self-starter with the ability to lead development projects
Thorough understanding of the software development life cycle and modern software development methodologies (e.g., agile, kanban)
Experience with GitHub, or other distributed revision control software
Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or another enterprise-scale relational database management system
Software development experience in C#
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
