Video Monitor Technician

The Video Monitor Technician is responsible for the direct and continuous visual monitoring of patients using the AvaSys Video Monitor system. In addition, the monitor technician is responsible for the documentation and communication of surveillance activities. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION: The Video Monitor Technician will:

Work independently, requesting assistance when needed.

Anticipate problems and works to solve them.

Perform duties willingly.

Demonstrate appearance and hygiene appropriate to the delivery of quality service.

Demonstrate sensitivity to customers’ needs.

Demonstrate a commitment to protecting the rights and privacy of the customer.

Provide ongoing communication, coordination, and collaboration with all members of the Health Care Team

Promote an environment that enhances safety, communication and satisfaction for patients and staff.

Escalate problems/challenges to designated NM and or Director of Nursing

Perform all other duties as required within the scope of practice.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The position is located indoors and has community responsibilities in which the incumbent is required to attend. Should be able to perform moderately difficult manual manipulations such as using a keyboard, writing and filing for extended periods of time, must be able to perform tasks which require hand-eye coordination such as data entry and typing. Mobility requirements may include the ability to sit at a computer terminal or workstation for a prolonged period of time in addition to being able to squat, stand and walk for a reasonable length of time and distance and manual dexterity. Sensory requirements include the ability to articulate and comprehend the spoken English language in addition to being able to read the English language.

Salary Range: $15.61-20.46 /hour Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.

Responsibilities include assisting in the dispensing of drugs, transport and delivery of drugs, repackaging of drugs, charging and crediting of medications, operation and restocking of automated dispensing devices, batch processing and labeling of IV additives, restocking of medications and non-drug supplies, sales of Rx and OTC products to employees, answering the telephone and responding to staff requests at the inpatient and outpatient/employee windows. All functions are performed under the supervision, review and approval of a Pharmacist.
