Req Number 105347Job DescriptionDevelops and articulates strategic vision for Logistics. Implements strategic plans, drives departmental goals/programs that support the business. Directs assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of operations and staff associated with patient Bed Management, Transfers and Logistics. Guides communication and coordination with internal patient care service areas, attending physicians and their office staff, and other facilities for the safe, efficient and well-timed movement of patients.Job Responsibility
Develops and articulates a short-term strategic vision for Patient Logistics.
Leads Patient Logistics by developing, communicating, and building consensus for goals/programs that support the hospital.
Identifies opportunities to initiate operational change within department(s).
Acts independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of operational programs.
Acts as an advisor to leadership on the development of overall policy and mid to long-term goals of function units.
Responsible for directing staffing appropriately for department(s) and collaborating with HR to fulfill requirements.
Exercises a higher degree of independent judgement to make decisions regarding the interpretation and application of small-scale policies and procedures.
Provides guidance and direction to managers as appropriate.
Provides education, guidance and support to all clinical service lines to promote optimal use of and compliance with bed management and transfer services; responds to patient and family concerns or complaints; develops marketing to promote the program. Develops and articulates a short-term strategic vision for Patient Logistics.
Prepares budget and recommends for approval.
Responsible for day-to-day management of budget for departments.
Visits referring physicians and ensure awareness of and satisfaction with transfer center; visit referring hospitals and other referring agencies to promote awareness and monitor satisfaction; provide education, guidance and support to all referring agencies, EMS and upon special request.
Creates and maintains a supportive working environment for staff; responds to staff concerns and functions proactively to retain staff; establishes unit metrics and goals to measure effectiveness of retention strategies.

Current License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
8-12 years of relevant experience and 7+ years of leadership / management experience, required.
4.Hospital Bed Management experience is strongly preferred.5.Strong Clinical and Bed Management experience is strongly preferred.6.Leadership experience within hospital Bed Management or Patient Logistics is strongly preferred.Additional Salary DetailThe salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
