Performs all functions of a Cardiovascular Technologist.Job Responsibility1.Leads and guides Cardiovascular Technologists in the performance of duties.Provides orientation and in-service training on new procedures/techniques.Handles and/or acts as a resource for difficult or complex cardiovascular imaging issues.Participates in scheduling, prioritizing and assigning work to team members based on workflow fluctuations.2.Performs all functions of a Cardiovascular Technologist.Performs a variety of duties to prepare unit for non-invasive and/or invasive cardiovascular procedures.Ensures all instrumentation/equipment for each procedure is presented on table in established fashion.Prepares sterile field for procedures and adheres to aseptic technique, as required.Obtains and prepares physician equipment for procedure to be performed.Prepares patient for procedure. Responds to patient's questions alleviating concerns regarding procedure. Ensures patient is correctly prepped and draped in a sterile fashion.Enters patient and procedural information into computer system.Monitors patient status during procedure, including hemodynamic data, electrocardiogram, blood pressure, chest pain, etc.Collects all pertinent data and calculations for physician's interpretation of results.Balances, calibrates and records appropriate hemodynamic data, and intervenes in cardiopulmonary emergencies.Operates equipment properly in a reliable manner, per departmental standards, complying with all safety guidelines/policies.3.Performs related duties as required. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related are not essential functions.Job QualificationVocational or Technical school Diploma required.Specialized license and/or certification, required.Current Basic Life Support Professional certification OR Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification, required.5-7 years of technical experience and 2+ years of leadership experience, required.
Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) OR Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), required.
