Req Number 1106161.Registers using computer system.Verifies insurance eligibility on all patients using EMEVS, EPACES and insurance cards.2.Interview patients or their representatives to obtain demographic and financial data and enters the information into the hospital's computer system or provider's billing form. Instructs patients as to required documentation needed for visit.3.Makes appointments for patients in accordance with criteria established by the department.4.Checks future patient appointments for accuracy and continuity of care.5.Secures all necessary signatures on forms and consents as required by established policies and procedures and ensures all information is complete and accurate.6.Creates an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis as well as a promoting a calm environment throughout the site.7.Screens telephone calls, takes messages, answers questions, records and relays messages appropriately.8.Performs clerical duties such as filing and photocopying.9.Monitors appointment and registration errors by clerks. Reinforces correct process with clerks to avoid future errors.10.Records diagnosis and procedures performed in Series based on completed Encounter Form signed by the provider.11.Works closely with providers to facilitate patient flow.12.Compiles various statistics, reports, or surveys as directed.13.Pulls or creates medical records for each patient on appointment schedule. Reviews record for completeness, i.e., consents, other required forms and inserts progress note.14.Pulls medical records for peer review or other quality management studies.15.Maintains physical integrity of medical records.16.Purges medical records on a regular basis to allow space for current records. Keeps detailed log of records sent to storage.17.Responsible for requests for chart copies from patients or other providers.18.Secures Medication Reconciliation Form for recently discharged patients and prepares form for provider review.19.Attends monthly Registration Meeting ensuring that information is disseminated to clerical staff in a timely manner.21.Performs other clerical duties as assigned by Coordinator or Administrative Director.22.Is liaison with other departments and facilities to resolve problems concerning the disposition of patient medical records and services provided.23.Coordinates and participates in activities relating to patient registration and the sorting, filing, retrieval and/or distribution of medical records and information ensuring adherence to hospital established policies and procedures.24.Maintains Soarian system for the practice; opening and closing screens as necessary for any changes in provider schedules.Performs related duties as required.
