Our product offerings include milk, flavored milk, yogurt, dip, sour cream, cottage cheese, Italian cheese, and ice cream mix marketed under the Upstate Farms®, Bison®, Milk for Life®, and Intense Milk® brands.Responsible for supervising, overseeing, and leading the garage mechanic team and Fleet Administrator in day-to-day operations to include but not limited to managing workflow and ensuring that all tractors, trucks, and trailers are properly maintained, safe to drive, and in good working condition per State and Federal DOT standards. Ensure all safety and performance standards are met.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Handle general employee inquiries and solve issues that arise.
Lead and direct work activities of shift employees, to include ensuring that company polices are followed, such as vehicle maintenance, accident prevention, and fuel efficiency.
Work with management to complete performance evaluations for employees. Provide follow up on employee development.
Responsible for administering direct feedback including disciplinary process; administer a Note to File/Verbal Warning and submit recommendations for written warnings.
In coordination with fleet manager and human resources, effectively participate in interviewing and hiring of new employees.
Responsible for training employees on safety procedures and company policies.
Ensures all required paperwork regarding Safety, PM Compliance and DOT Compliance are maintained.
Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve services, or processes.
Responsible for maintaining employee schedule and payroll/timeclock accuracy using the UKG payroll system.
Meeting department expectations and monitoring variances.
Maintain shop / office cleanliness and participate in waste reduction efforts.
Ensure department follows all Safety requirements to include, Housekeeping, Fleet Lock Out/Tag Out, PPE and engage in facility safety efforts.
Conducts scheduled State and Federal inspections of all company owned assets.
Effectively communicate with Plant and Distribution Managers to ensure accurate information is being exchanged.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Education requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Certification or degree in related field
Required: 3-5 years supervisory experience in similar environment; Fleet Maintenance Shop or Commercial Truck Repair Facility; will consider comparable work experience in related field
