Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Human Resources Assistant in the Healthcare, Hospitals, and Social Assistance industry. This role is based in Syracuse, New York. The HR Assistant will be required to perform a variety of duties in a busy office setting, including front desk-receptionist duties, time management, organization, and delivering exceptional customer service to the employees and other visitors to the hospital. Responsibilities: Perform front desk-receptionist duties efficiently, providing excellent customer service to employees and visitors Assist with administrative tasks requiring multi-tasking and time management skills Onboard new employees and provide administrative assistance as required Answer multi-line phone system, directing calls to the appropriate individuals or departments Maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality Assist with HR-related inquiries and direct complex issues to the appropriate resources Collaborate with the HR team to ensure smooth and efficient HR operations Participate in HR projects, meetings, and training sessions as required Support the HR department in implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices. Requirements Candidate must possess a strong ability to handle a multi-line phone system. Experience in onboarding new employees is essential. The role requires a high level of administrative assistance skills. Proficiency in the use of standard office software such as Microsoft Office Suite is necessary. The candidate must be capable of working in a fast-paced, healthcare and social assistance environment. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is required. A minimum of one year of experience in a similar role within the healthcare industry is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. The ability to handle confidential information with discretion is vital. The candidate must have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment is necessary. Must have the ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of human resources laws and regulations is essential.
