This requires us to deliver on our promises and always look for new opportunities to grow, both ourselves and our business.National Grid is hiring a Lead Analyst for our Non-Complex Electric Contract Management department in Syracuse, NY.Job PurposeNational Grid outsources electric construction work across its US service territory. National Grid is posting a position to analyse, interpret and report on contractor construction information. This person will be responsible for locating and extracting data from multiple systems, analysing data, following up on discrepancies, report create and presentation, contractor engagement, and leading team initiatives in the department.Key AccountabilitiesStakeholder Management

Build and develop relationships with external vendors performing electric construction services.

Build, develop, and maintain internal relationships with Accounts Payable, Procurement, Contracts & Commercial, Resource Planning and Materials Planning to ensure accurate data representation.

Lead and participate in regularly scheduled contractor meetings to ensure issues are addressed in a timely manner.

Data Analysis

Locate and retrieve data from multiple systems and platforms. Data includes financial data, time accounting, pricing, construction task frequency, material inventory, headcount reporting, historical information like workload, etc.

Interpret data and supply to multiple stake holders (mostly Contracts & Commercial) for presentation to contractors and business.

Create reports for stakeholders and request data. Reporting will be in multiple platforms including Microsoft Suite, Tableau, Primavera, etc. Presentation of reported data in a clear, concise manner.

Lead departmental initiatives around information gathering for problem solving. This involves assembling a team, identifying the problem, executing a solution and reporting the results with minimal oversight.

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

Provide accurate estimates, taking into account historical volumes of work completed, work plan inputs, and other external influences.

Written communication skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a Business or Technical discipline preferred, along with some knowledge of field operations, construction and/or maintenance experience.

5+ years analyst experience in a utility setting or relatable field.

Familiarity and experience with procurement, accounts payable, contract management and construction.

Knowledge of contracts, scheduling, cost control techniques and one or more corporate financial systems (i.e. SAP, Maximo, and Contractor Charges) preferred.

Skill in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PPT, etc) is required. Skill in reporting software like Tableau is preferred.

Well-developed written and communication skills, ability to present and explain report data to upper management.

Ability to work well with others; strong interpersonal skills required.

Ability to lead and participate in cross functional teams with varying goals.

Comfortable in working both alone and in team settings.

Strong organizational skills

Working with a third party service provider

Self-motivated

Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy
