Emphasis is placed on providing for patient’s social needs, exercising initiative and independent judgementbased upon professional knowledge, experience and hospital policy. Liaison to other services along the continuum of care andcommunity support services.EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:Masters Degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university, and passing exam offered by ASWB and licensure as LMSWor permit to practice as LMSW through State of New York. Must receive license within 12 months following issuance of limitedpermit, if new hire does not have license at beginning of employment.Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas ofexpertise.SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Crisis intervention skills. Ability to communicate effectively with patient, family, medical team and other professions within hospitaland in the community.WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:Office and clinical setting. Exposure Class II. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
