Purchasing Manager

Description Chris Preble is working with a Syracuse client of his that has very low turnover and excellent benefits. This organization has a newly created Purchasing Manager opportunity. The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement of goods and services. This role involves developing and implementing procurement strategies, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring that the company's purchasing processes are efficient and cost-effective. Key Responsibilities:Strategic Planning:

Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals.

Analyze market trends and supplier performance to optimize purchasing decisions.

Supplier Management:

Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable suppliers.

Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure the best deals.

Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues or discrepancies.

Purchasing Operations:

Oversee the procurement process from requisition to order fulfillment.

Ensure timely delivery of goods and services while managing inventory levels.

Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other relevant data.

Cost Management:

Develop and manage budgets for purchasing activities.

Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

Conduct regular audits and analyses to ensure financial efficiency.

Team Leadership:

Supervise and mentor the purchasing team to ensure high performance and professional development.

Coordinate with other departments to understand their purchasing needs and requirements.

Compliance and Reporting:

Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, regulations, and legal requirements.

Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.

Continuous Improvement:

Stay updated with industry trends, new products, and technological advancements.

Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance procurement efficiency.

Requirements

Must have a proven track record in a Purchasing role.
