Apply now for the position of Biochemist II, and you will join the analytical services group primarily as a conjugate chemist. Additionally, you will help to find solutions to complex and challenging research and manufacturing problems. You will have the opportunity to use advanced instrumentation to support these efforts. In resolving such issues, you will find a sense of rewarding success. Your role: In your activities you will demonstrate knowledge of protein chemistry, chromatography (i.e., SEC, HIC), electrophoresis (SDS PAGE; IEF), BCA/BIORAD protein analysis. Knowledge of Immunochemistry and assay development is a plus. You will support R&D development through preparation of conjugates. You will take part in characterization of antibodies, antigens, and conjugates. Knowledge of conjugate chemistry is a plus but not required. Your activities will support manufacturing troubleshooting efforts using various analytical techniques. You will need to think logically and critically to solve challenging problems. Your expertise: You have good PC skills (MS Office software like Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook). You have familiarity with large scale purification techniques, including SEC, HIC, Tangential Fast Flow, Dialysis, MALDI-TOF MS and Dynamic Light Scattering is a plus but not required. You must work well in a team environment. You must be willing to learn about and develop new analytical techniques directed at solving conjugate problems. You will need to have good problem-solving and critical thinking skills are a plus. You will have knowledge and execution of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) is a must. You will possess good presentation and writing skills are a plus. The incumbent will be required to prepare detailed reports to document the work performed. You have completed at a minimum a BS in chemistry, biochemistry, or biology. BS degree in related field and 5+ years industry experience strongly preferred. Willing to travel up to 20%.
