Description We are in the process of hiring a Tax Director/Manager - Corporate for our team based in TONAWANDA, New York, United States. This role primarily involves managing property tax duties within our manufacturing industry. An exciting opportunity is being offered to the right candidate. Responsibilities: Efficiently manage property tax audits and assessment challenges, including providing necessary data and coordinating site visits. Oversee the tracking and compliance of property tax abatements, including timely filing of reports and coordinating with regional contacts for necessary information. Handle the tracking and payment of real property bills across multiple legal entities, ensuring the list of properties is accurate. Develop annual asset files for third-party compliance vendors, reviewing for accuracy before sending. Prepare annual property tax accruals and budgets for various departments, estimating changes in asset base and expected costs. Review and approve Property Tax Liability and Receivable reconciliations, preparing true-up entries as needed. Communicate property tax information for accurate pass-through billing to customers, handling complex calculations when required. Serve as a point of contact between Compliance Vendors and the business for process improvements, data sharing, and payment communication. Validate property tax savings achieved through challenging property tax assessments. Undertake property tax due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, researching tax status of acquired properties. Estimate expected taxes on new plants or plant expansions. Provide necessary documentation to customers in support of billback invoices. Supervise assigned clerical personnel as needed. Requirements Must possess experience and proficiency in compliance software Demonstrated capability in managing accounting functions Must have a strong background in auditing Proficiency in compliance and understanding of regulatory standards Excellent documentation skills required Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification referred but not required Experience with tax abatement procedures and regulations Knowledge and experience in dealing with personal property tax Must understand and have worked with property tax Experience in preparing and filing property tax returns is a necessityRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
