The Telecommunications Specialistwill oversee and optimize the performance and functionality of the telecommunications systems in support of the Network Enterprise Center (NEC) in West Point, NY. Performadministrative, O&M functions, and routines required for the telephone switching equipment, voice mail system, and firewall.

Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting.

Perform customer features and activate and de-activate voice mail accounts.

Work with government customers to identify needs or opportunities for improvement.

Ensure assigned tickets are addressed withgovernment clients.

Update/maintain all ISP and remote communications facilities' final drawings.

Validate installation communications and cable drawings and submit red-line changes.

Maintenance of telephone poles, manholes, handholds, and outside terminals.

Install, de-install, maintain, repair, and test multiple-conductor aerial, underground, and buried communications cable to include coaxial, fiber optics, and copper/conventional cable.

Provide cable audits of manholes, hand-holes, pedestals, communications closets, MDF, and IDF.

US Citizen

Five (5+) years experience in telecommunications infrastructure, facility design, and installation.

Knowledge and experience ofBICSI rules, regulations, and standards.

Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and industry standards and practices.

Knowledge of Avaya Switches.

Experience withMS Office Suite.

Preferred:

BA/BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

IAT Level II Certification equivalent or higher perDoD 8570/DoD 8140 (CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security,GICSP,GSEC, SSCP, etc.).

Avaya Switch training and certification

Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

Accurate and precise attention to detail.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills.

Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management.
