The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.Role DescriptionPerform operational processing and support to commercial lending, focused on monitoring and servicing commercial and business loan transactions. Review, prepare and finalize loan documents ahead of the disbursement of funds; verify that documentation and work processes are complete and conform to policy. Collect and reconcile invoices. Perform quality control reviews post-closing and facilitate loan funding.Role Objectives: DeliveryProvide operational support and assistance with onboarding and servicing commercial loan accounts. Perform a series of administrative services, including processing loan payments and payoffs, verifying loan documentation and records, processing non-performing loans and charge-offs, and scanning/storing loan information and related documents. Process loan extensions, renewals and other changes onto core system(s). Perform onboarding tasks and assist with loan booking onto core system(s) and related audits. Investigate payment issues, research and resolve any reconciliation items and escalate suspicious transactions and issues appropriately. Prepare and review reporting, as needed - includes internal workflow reporting as well as any required reporting for credit bureau / credit disputes.Role Objectives: InterpersonalLiaise with and assist processing teams within lending operations to schedule loan closings. Assist with contacting insurance companies and third parties as required to obtain documentation and information. Assist with fielding loan servicing calls and emails and making courtesy calls to loan customers, as required. Demonstrate excellent listening skills and openness to feedback in order to enhance personal and team productivity and performance. Demonstrated positive and professional attitude and reliability.Role Objectives: ExpertiseDemonstrate basic understanding of the loan origination cycle and lending process. Demonstrate ability to understand and interpret credit reports and evaluate loan applications. Working knowledge of applicable compliance regulations and regulatory standards for financial institutions/credit unions.
