Cook/Manager at Yalla Food Truck

The team at the Yalla is seeking an experienced back-end service industry team member to join us. We are a new food truck that is at Catawba Brewing South Slope every weekend and will soon be expanding to considerably more hours. Right now, we are seeking someone who can help on Friday, Saturday & Sunday specifically. Soon, we will expand to Thursday evening and look to open for weekday lunches (and maybe weekday evenings) in the summer.

We are two friends who opened a food truck in March with support of our family and friends. We have experience working at tech startups and launching other businesses in Asheville so we have a big vision for our future. However, we always put people before profit and want to hire people with the ability to grow with us. We want to develop this business into much more than a food truck and our people into much more than employees.

The role will be all-encompassing and require prep work, cooking, plating, taking orders, and cleaning. Our ideal hire has deep kitchen experience and an active knowledge of regulations and requirements for keeping our kitchen clean and up to code. We take pride in our work and need team members who at least match our level of care, if not push us to higher standards.

We have a small menu that can be quickly mastered by most anyone and our processes are pretty well laid out but as we are new, they are still a work in progress. The owners will always be accessible for training and support, often working alongside you. We are not micro-managers or "long-distance owners." This food truck is our passion and we want to work with someone who's willing to embrace our vision and goals with us.

If you have a passion for people, enjoy working in a team environment, take pride in the details of your work, and are looking for a role where you can take on greater responsibility we want to speak with you.
