Rabbit Hole Baker
Sunny Point Café is looking to hire an experienced Baker to work in our new adjacent bakery called the Rabbit Hole. The position will focus on high quality, fun, and innovative baking. The baker will be using some of our signature recipes and be expected to contribute creative and new elements to integrate with our upscale, funky and rustic style. Expect to work in a brand new kitchen with a small crew. Production items will include biscuits, breads, doughs, batters, muffins, cookies, pastries, cakes, pies, and plated desserts. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your own style to meld together with a new business that will be also producing baked products and items used in Sunny Point Café. This will be a high volume position that requires use of a variety of cooking methods and previously mastered techniques.
Duties and Responsibilities
Communication with management team about what is selling/working and what is not
Prepare staple cookies, breads, muffins, biscuits, cakes etc. by following company recipes
Bring new ideas to the bakery for specials
Receiving and storing food products
Monitor and adjust production schedules based on inventory and fluctuating par levels
Complete daily assigned work in a sanitary and efficient manner
Requirements
Must have at least 2 years prior experience as a baker, pastry cook or chef in a high volume setting or culinary degree
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Early morning and weekend availability
Must be able to work independently and unsupervised
Ability to multi-task
Extensive knowledge of various baking and cooking techniques
Excellent piping skills and meticulous craftsmanship
Must be professional, energetic, organized, punctual and willing to take constructive criticism
Must be a team player
