Private practitioner is seeking a personable, detail-oriented, well organized Medical Office Administrator.

Job Duties

- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner

- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the appointment calendar

- Collect and update patient information, including medical history and insurance details

- Verify insurance coverage and process necessary paperwork

- Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy of information

- Medical billing and coding tasks

- Medical insurance filing and follow up

- Follow HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality

- Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure smooth patient flow

- Manage referrals

- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and faxes

- Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and data entry

Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:

- Previous experience in a medical receptionist or administrative support role preferred

- Proficient in medical scheduling software

- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures

- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
