The National Paideia Center (NPC) is seeking a Part-Time Office Manager to join our non-profit organization focused on promoting educational reform and the Paideia philosophy. As a member of our team based in Asheville, you'll contribute to our mission of encouraging critical thinking, intellectual growth, and active citizenship for all students. We recognize the importance of maintaining a work-life balance, so we offer the opportunity to work in a hybrid setting, blending the collaborative nature of in-person work at the NPC office with the convenience and comfort of remote work and flexible hours.
Responsibilities:
Financial Management: Coordinate financial records with a third-party accounting firm, manage the invoice process for school partners to improve quality, efficiency, and timeliness of invoicing and payments, track payments, and process bill payments.
Program Support: Utilize productivity software to monitor staff workflow, prepare materials for training events, organize conferences, and manage event registrations.
Communications: Update and maintain the organization's website, manage seminar plan collection site, distribute electronic newsletters, and respond to information requests.
General Office Tasks: Manage and organize office operations, oversee inventory and supplies, maintain filing systems, and ensure the efficient functioning of the work environment.
Qualifications:
Experience in managing billing processes and improving financial efficiency
Mature written and verbal communication skills
Ability to problem-solve and work independently
Strong attention to detail
Willingness to learn and manage various online platforms (at present, this includes Quickbooks, Podio, WordPress, Shopify, Microsoft 365 and G Suite, among others)
Marketing and research, writing and editing skills are a plus
Position Details:
Hours: Part-time, 10-15 hours per week
Location: Hybrid, with a mix of in-person work in Asheville, NC, and remote work
Salary: $20 per hour to begin, with room to advance
Start Date: July 15, 2025; training can begin as soon as the right candidate is identified
