Job Duties and Responsibilities
Company Policy and Procedures:
Understand and abide by company procedures.
Arrive on time and be ready to work by 7:30 a.m.
Demonstrate good attendance and schedule days off appropriately.
Performance/Production:
Practice procedures taught by the foreman.
Maintain a consistent level of quality.
Demonstrate the ability to be left alone on jobs.
Eliminate misunderstandings through questions.
Take on small sections of projects independently.
Physical Performance and Skills:
Properly handle, move, and install plant and hydroseeding materials.
Move landscape and construction materials efficiently.
Perform most horticultural tasks without direction.
Develop construction skills (e.g., planting, mixing hydroseed, applications, erosion control matting).
Human Relations:
Maintain a positive attitude and outlook toward work.
Demonstrate respect for coworkers.
Exhibit the ability to be a team player.
Equipment and Company Property:
Ensure tools and supplies are ready for the day.
Keep trucks fueled and clean daily.
Organize tools and supplies effectively.
Demonstrate proper operation and daily maintenance of most equipment.
Treat equipment and company property with respect.
Quality:
Maintain a professional approach at all times.
Strive to get the job done right the first time.
Maintain quality while increasing efficiency.
Think of ways to improve quality.
Safety:
Operate tools and equipment safely.
Use required safety equipment.
Specific Responsibilities:
Assist the foreman in all tasks necessary to complete a job (e.g., loading/unloading trucks, moving materials, installing landscapes, and hydroseeding).
This includes installing rock work, gravel, and plant materials.
Essential Functions (ADA):
Capable of learning and developing skills and mastering functions of a physical and organized nature.
Capable of lifting 50 pounds and performing vigorous physical labor.
Able to maintain a driver's license and insurability.
