Appalachian Hydroseeding & Landscaping, Inc. seeks an energetic Operations Manager to join our team in Waynesville, NC.
Job Duties and Responsibilities of the Operations Manager
● Schedule job production and maintain the schedule board/calendar online.
● Review the foreman’s daily plan to ensure successful job execution.
● Schedule labor and equipment with the foreman a minimum of one week prior to actual work.
● Maintain an up-to-date schedule on schedule board/calendar online.
● Supervise daily tracking and posting of job hours to budgeted hours and report to the design sales team reasons for jobs running over and how this can be corrected.
● Confirm in writing all agreements, change orders, decisions, assignments, and follow up.
● Review foreman’s worksheets authenticating accuracy of materials and labor used and turn into the administration department.
● Conduct walk-throughs, communicate warranty and care instructions, Pass client information to customer service for post-job follow up.
● Schedule replacements within 10 days of materials being available or as agreed on by client.
● Review jobs with Design Sales prior to final bid to ensure successful project installations.
● Hire crew and lead people and assist in foreman and foreman-trainee hiring.
● Complete new hire job packets prior to employee start.
● Train foreman and crews through pre-planned training events with visuals and listening guides for review. Conduct personnel reviews from foreman level down.
● Make sure employees understand and adhere to company policy, procedures and goals.
● Oversee safety and determine employees qualified to drive and operate equipment.
● Prepare and review workers’ compensation forms as incidents occur and turns forms in within 24 hours.
● Review plant material availability and coordinate deliveries one day prior to actual need.
● Manage general maintenance and appearance of landscape trucks and equipment.
Essential functions (ADA)
The incumbent must be:
● Capable of a high level of analytical, organizational, and clerical skills.
● Capable of traveling and being highly mobile.
● Emotionally and professionally capable of leading employees, persuading customers, and communicating with a broad range of people.
CDL is a plus. Bilingual Manager a plus. Needs to be able to pull trailers, and drive trucks with standard transmission, operate tractors, and hydroseeding equipment.
