Zions Capital Markets is hiring a Capital Markets Leader who is responsible for managing and directing business initiatives and related business management activities within the Capital Markets division. This role will support all business lines within Zions Capital Markets including Debt Capital Markets, Sales & Trading, Investment Banking, and Real Estate Capital Markets. This is a new leadership position, and it will report to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Zions Capital Markets. As the leader of this function, you will give vision and direction to your team while ensuring the ability to support significant growth and evolution of these capital markets businesses and related infrastructure utilizing a controlled, agile and scalable approach. Product focus areas include derivatives (interest rate swaps, commodities, foreign exchange, credit, structured products, and equity index options), foreign exchange, syndicated loans, securities underwriting, commercial real estate loans, and investment banking/advisory services. Essential Functions:

Work with the COO, Division Heads/Team Members, and strategic partners (e.g. Project Management Office, Risk Management, Technology, etc.) to efficiently and effectively drive various sized initiatives across the Capital Markets division. Examples include system upgrades/implementations, industry/regulatory changes, issue remediation, strategic planning, C-suite management requests, and management presentations/analysis/reporting.

Daily collaboration with Capital Markets business heads/employees and other key stakeholders including Risk Management, Accounting/Finance, Treasury, Project Office, Legal, etc. to ensure successful business and risk management outcomes for the Capital Markets division.

Create & deliver executive communications, presentations, reporting, & metrics of the supported businesses and the function itself.

Maintain a culture where processes and controls are continually monitored and evaluated with risks and breaks escalated and resolved in a timely basis.

Provide guidance and aid team members on market/business knowledge, client servicing, and business management routines/expertise.

Implementing a successful people and engagement strategy to help attract, develop, retain, and recognize a talented workforce.

Drive results and foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.

In coordination with the COO, develop and manage Business Initiatives department budgets and headcount plans to meet agreed upon financial targets.

Occasional travel to office locations with Capital Markets team members and/or business constituents/strategic enablers.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, or a related field and 12+ years of Business Management, Management Consulting, Business Operations and/or Project Management experience in Financial Services. A combination of education and experience may meet job requirements.

Expert knowledge of capital markets products, services, and markets including Derivatives (Interest Rates, Commodities, Foreign Exchange, Structured Products, and Credit), Foreign Exchange, Fixed Income Securities, Loan Syndications, Securities Underwriting, Real Estate Capital Markets, and Investment Banking/Advisory.

Expert knowledge and related experience driving various sized initiatives across a Capital Markets platform including scope/goals, planning, execution, monitoring, and implementation.

Expert knowledge and significant experience with Calypso required. Experience with Spectrum, Bloomberg TOMS, and/or DealCloud a plus

Expert knowledge of capital markets industry norms, best practices, etc.

Deep knowledge of applicable capital markets regulations (OCC, FINRA, MSRB, CFTC, etc.). Experience leading implementations of new regulatory requirements.

Expert level knowledge and experience creating management (including C-suite) level presentations, reporting, and analysis.

Knowledge and understanding of process/control design, modeling, and development

Ability to identify risk factors and ensure enactment and execution of appropriate controls

Prior leadership experience including managing multiple direct reports. Strong focus on talent development at all levels within the organization

Ability to establish and build trust with professionals throughout the business as a leader, advisor, and business partner to the organization with a clear client and risk management orientation

Ability to conceptualize aspects of the organization’s model (staffing, process/control consistency, etc.) and its future evolution

Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.

Strong and influential communicator who is articulate, able to connect with senior leaders and junior team members. Demonstrates ability to impact and influence those around them.

High level of focus on work quality and attention to detail

Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and track details

Experience in financial planning processes, including budgeting/forecasting
