Grant Accountant

Description Position Overview:We are looking for a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Grants Specialist with at least a couple of years of direct work experience with HUD and their grant account system (IDIS), as well as familiarity with the CDBG program grant and monitoring requirements. This part-time, flexible position will start in late spring 2024 and continue through spring 2025.Responsibilities:

Manage HUD grants, including Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), Federal Grant Affordable Housing, and Housing Rehabilitation grants

Ensure compliance with HUD regulations, guidelines, and reporting requirements

Monitor grant budgets, expenditures, and performance metrics

Prepare and submit grant applications, budgets, and progress reports

Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to support grant activities

Conduct training sessions and provide technical assistance to grant recipients

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of grant activities and expenditures

Stay informed about changes in HUD regulations and policies related to grant programs

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, Business, or related field

At least a couple of years of direct work experience with HUD grants and their grant account system (IDIS)

Strong understanding of CDBG program grant and monitoring requirements

Excellent organizational and project management skills

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and grant management software

Experience working in affordable housing or community development is a plus
