Wells Fargo Regulatory Relations (WFRR) oversees regulatory relations for Wells Fargo. It ensures an organized and cohesive approach to interacting with regulators and leads the company’s efforts to have a sustained and proactive dialogue on risk management to address regulatory expectations. It is responsible for developing and implementing the overall strategy for regulatory engagement, ensuring transparency and consistency of communications, providing oversight and guidance on the quality of regulatory responses, and ensuring adherence to enterprise-wide requirements.The Regulatory Relations Strategy, Engagement, and Governance group develops our regulatory engagement strategy, sets standards and expectations for managing regulatory relations across the enterprise, and partners on cross-group and critical regulatory interactions. It also manages the various governance processes, establishes appropriate communications protocols and programs, and ensures transparency across the enterprise. It also acts as a single point of contact for regulators at the enterprise level, as well as a point of contact for other groups within WFRR, business and functional groups across the enterprise specific to the definition and alignment of overall standards and approach of implementation. This role will report to the head of Consumer Banking for Regulatory Relations Strategy, Engagement, and Governance group.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Assist in the formation of the regulatory engagement strategy and framework. This team’s activities include:

Define and maintain the end-to-end strategy for Wells Fargo regulatory engagement in partnership with other impacted stakeholders or contributors (e.g., group-level regulatory relations, Legal, Compliance)

Partner with other Wells Fargo groups to align strategies around people, process, technology, and data

Help ensure implementation roadmaps to help implement the strategy are well defined, socialized and executed per agreed upon scope and timeline

Support the implementation of regulatory relations policy and procedures. Over time become a subject matter expert on process components in order to provide guidance to downstream consumers

Maintain, evolve, and implement key governance documentation, including policy and procedures, using sound change management disciplines

Liaise with the enterprise policy office to ensure alignment and compliance with firm-wide policy and procedure standards

Partner with other policy and procedures owners with upstream and/or downstream impact to the regulatory relations framework (e.g., data retention, issues management, change management, etc.) to help ensure continued alignment and connectivity

Assist project management resources and implementation activities leveraging internal and external resources

Support the definition of regulatory relations-specific taxonomies and identification of thematic linkages with other firm-wide taxonomies to help support more robust and reconciled data, analytics and reporting

Develop written and verbal internal and external communication channels (e.g., intranet sites, in-person forums, working groups) that help strengthen the overall regulatory relations capability and provide greater awareness and connectivity

Continue to review and optimize business processes to help ensure process effectiveness and efficiency

Contribute relevant subject matter expertise throughout the lifecycle of all technology build efforts supporting regulatory relations

Build strong partnerships and collaborate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders

Support the overall mission and vision of Wells Fargo Regulatory Relations through collaboration and support of all groups and team members

Provide leadership in the integration/implementation of programs with cross functional business partners, recognizing the significance of competing priorities and strategies, and adjusting as necessary

Partner with the WFRR Analytics, Data, and Reporting to establish metrics and reporting requirements to measure the effectiveness and efficiencies of the process

Partner, as needed, with other WFRR Strategy, Engagement, and Governance team members and other WFRR teams, to fulfill the team’s overall mandate

6+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 6+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both
