Staff Accountant

Description Our client is a reputable non-profit organization here in Charlotte, NC. We're currently looking to expand our team by hiring a senior accountant to help streamline, monitor, and manage our organization's financial operations.Responsibilities:

Responsible for overseeing all accounting procedures and operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and financial statement preparations.

Manage payroll processes, ensuring accurate deductions, timely disbursements, and compliance with relevant tax legislation.

Thoroughly document grant usage, accurately tracking and reporting in line with funder requirements.

Assist in the preparation and management of our yearly budget and collaborate on the development of financial strategies.

Streamline accounting functions and operations to drive efficiency and effectiveness.

Lead the preparation and coordination of the audit process.

Meet regular reporting deadlines and coordinate with external regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field required; CPA or Master's degree preferred.

Proven senior-level accounting experience, ideally within a non-profit setting.

Extensive knowledge and understanding of payroll processing.

Familiarity with accounting for grants, including compliance, reporting, and the reconciliation process.

Proficiency in accounting software and strong Excel skills.

Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail.

Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
