Our client in Charlotte, NC is looking for an IT Security Engineer to plan, implement and manage their overall system security strategy.

Responsibilities of the IT Security Engineer:
  • Utilize security tools and processes in order to scan, identify, contain, mitigate and remediate vulnerabilities and intrusions
  • Develop and implement plans to safeguard Confidential data
  • Undertake tasks involving architectures, firewalls, network access and endpoint security
  • Architect, plan, configure, deploy, maintain, and upgrade Security tools to address vulnerabilities
  • Safeguard system security and improve overall server and network efficiency by running vulnerability assessments and participating in patch management process
  • Proactively search for threats
  • Lead troubleshooting, analysis, mitigation and remediation tasks

Requirements of the IT Security Engineer:
  • Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Information Systems, or Computer Science
  • 5 or more years of experience in technology, with network security, endpoint security and application security
  • Certifications in GSEC, CEH, CCSP, or CISSP preferred.
  • Basic coding skills, such as Python, PowerShell and other languages
  • Experience using a variety of security tools and methodologies for monitoring, analysis, and investigations
  • Experience managing firewalls, IDS, IPS, and network security solutions
  • Experience engineering, deploying and managing Windows Server, Azure, O365 and Vmware solutions
  • Thorough understanding of security solutions, such as NextGen AV, MDR, Email Protection, Vulnerability Mgmt, Patch Management
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity trends and hacking techniques
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to solve problems as they arise
